History of the production

The company Udava a.s. was founded in 1999 on the place of the former local grown company in the village Udavské and bound to both a long tradition of wood processing in this village.

Udavske village is located in the southern part of the Low Beskydy mountains, in the valley of the river Udava at estuary to river Laborec fulled by beech trees. The company is processing local woods i.e. beech and oak. Location of the company allows excellent long-term availability of quality wood and also because currently ranks among the largest wood processing companies (sawmill) of beech and oak logs in eastern Slovakia.

Primary Manufacturing process

The company core business is processing woods i.e. beech and oak into squares, elements. Our production month capacity is around 1200 m3 of squares and elements. Drying capacity is 750 m3 of kilns. Starting from logs, sawmilling, crosscuting, drying to clients needs. Our long-term clients are tradicional furniture and hand tools producers.

Secondary Manufacturing process

After drying we can mould elements acording client needs. We offer planned elements or roundbars. Month capacity is around 160 m3 of planned material.

Delivering technological wood for pulp production

Secondary business is trading technological wood for pulp production. Yearly we are delivering around 20 000 m3 of technological wood for pulp production. Company Udava a.s. has own transport vehicles and machinery for loading and transporting logs and semifinal products.
